Hen do dressing up ideas - Wigs
30th Jul 2021
I loved organising my best friend's hen do along with her sister, and sister in laws. We all had a lovely time in Cambridge, and the highlight for me was punting along the River Cam. This ticked all the boxes; fun, adventure, trying something new (for most people), a chance to enjoy each other's company while taking in the most picturesque views of Cambridge. Toni, the bride to be looked amazing wearing our Undercover Glamour blue bob wig with her union jack dress, which was cleverly planned by her sister, Susanna.
I think you will agree with the fact that Toni looked super cool while punting along the River Cam and I felt very proud that she was wearing one of our Undercover Glamour blue wigs. The union jack dress and wig were perfect for the hen do and it was also very fitting with the lead up to England playing in the Euro 2020 final. Toni was also hard to miss in her outfit, so it was easy for our group to keep track of her, and spot her while punting along the River Cam!
Punting in Cambridge was the perfect activity for the hen do and we were very lucky with the weather. As the sun was out and the rain held off for the day (with typical English weather it had been forecasted to rain). Punting along the River Cam is stunning as you will pole your way pass the Cambridge University Colleges, as shown in the picture above. We booked 3 punts through Scudamores and the cost of punt hire was £46.50 per punt, so per person (for 6 people per punt) it was only £7.75 each for an hour and a half. We hired the punts from Scudamores Mill Lane location which is walking distance from the city centre, this location is also right next to some fields which was ideal for our picnic before and meeting location.
We opted for the self-punting over the punting tours as we knew trying to pole our way along a busy Cambridge river would be much more fun! Luckily a few of the group had punted before so we did manage to navigate our way along the river. However, it took me forever to work out how to get out of the punting bay, with all the other punting traffic our punt kept getting hit into the wrong direction, it was a little embarrassing really. I also got the timing wrong with punting through one of the arched bridges and had to drop my punt as our boat just casually floated through the bridge, but that is all part of the fun.
I definitely think planning a cool outfit idea for the hen is a really fun idea and making the hen look amazing on their hen do is going to make them feel on fire for their hen do too! I think our outfit idea worked a treat as shown in the pics below! Being out on the hen do with Toni wearing our blue bob wig made me realise how fun our wigs are and that I must do more to promote them for hen dos and parties.
Toni's hen do weekend was lovely.... friends, family, prosecco, punting, great food and dancing, literally the perfect hen do. Covid restrictions kept it mainly outside, which worked out well for everyone and kept costs down. Hen dos should be about getting all your friends together and having a fun time, rather than out-pricing some. I think we succeeded in that as we had a great turn out for the bride to be.
I love wearing wigs and I pretty much live in them for work as a stunt double, I am often in wigs to be a perfect match to the actress I am stunt doubling for, and they transform me into character. I love how a wig can give you an alter ego, and I am passionate about offering high quality and attractive wigs. We specialise in fun, party wigs, and wigs that will get you noticed! You can see our range of party wigs at www.undercover-glamour.com/wigs
Our goal is to expand our wig range especially for dressing up for hen dos and parties, currently though we have some great options from soft pastel coloured wigs ideal for anime looks and bold bright bob wigs in red, bright pink and blue. So, watch this space!
