Caring for your Breast Prosthesis
If you take good care of your breast prosthesis it can last for many years.
You can clean the silicone breast forms by using lukewarm water and a mild soap. Do not wash the forms with any strong chemicals, or in the washing machine as this can damage the outer layers and cause them to leak or become misshapen. Once clean, they can be gently towel dried.
Both of our traditional silicone and silicone lightweight prosthetics are suitable for swimming, however, due to the amounts of chlorine in swimming pools we suggest rinsing them at the earliest opportunity after swimming to prolong the life of the silicone.
Please always be aware of sharp objects near the breast forms as they may pierce them. We recommend not wearing badges/ broaches around the chest area, and keeping them stored in the packaging supplied, or in another suitable container.
Our breast forms are designed to be worn in a suitable mastectomy bra, designed with a pocket to keep the breast prosthesis in place. We do not recommend using adhesives to adhere the form to your chest as this can damage the outer layers and cause tearing and leaking.
